thinnan's mission is to bring people together through a social network centered around food and real-life personal connections.
thinnan: The Social Food Network combines the power of social media and event technology to encourage users to have more in-person connections around home-cooked meals. It's a platform where users can share images and videos of their dishes and engage with friends. The platform also allows home cooks to transition into professional cloud kitchens, creating opportunities for revenue generation.
The company is based in Helsinki and has a team of seven employees.

“thinnan is a product developed for the world from Helsinki. We currently have a strong user base in Helsinki with our beta version during our ongoing pre-seed product development. Overseas expansion is scheduled for the second half of 2025. As a bootstrapped company, we needed to invest our resources wisely – but expanding into a new city based purely on intuition or guesswork was challenging.
Our association with the Location Innovation Hub opened up our network to Gispo. They showed a genuine willingness to understand our needs and tailor their solutions accordingly.
We now have a specific, data-backed vision to plan our expansion into multiple cities across Europe. The insights help us identify key user groups and cities efficiently and affordably. With the right tools, we can also recalibrate our parameters to optimize further – ensuring better use of resources and a higher success rate.
