Join our Discovery Day

We are delighted to invite you to a unique event where you can learn, network and share ideas live. This event is suitable for infrastructure, energy, forestry, logistics, defence and technology companies that use drones for inspections, measurements, maintenance and surveillance.

The event is aimed at executives and technology solution managers from small and medium-sized enterprises, for whom Location Innovation Hub will offer more than 30 other test environments free of charge until the end of 2025. Drone test environments in Oulu region are part of our selection.

The number of participants is limited (max. 30) and the deadline for registration is 1 October, so register now!

We offer coffee and lunch to participants. The event is organised by Oulu University of Applied Sciences and the Location Innovation Hub.

Programme

Morning coffee and welcome (09:00–09:30)

  • Arrival at the OuluZone test area. We travel to test environments by chartered bus from city of Oulu.
  • Welcome, programme for the day, Jaakko Palmunen and Kimmo Paajanen

Use cases: Drone testing and future aviation (09:30–11:00)

  • Low-altitude airspace management and operations – Timo Lind & Jussi Kangasoja, VTT
  • Research programme for intelligent and sustainable aviation and ADL at Oamk, Kimmo Paajanen

Lunch and networking (11:00–12:00)

  • Lunch at OuluZone
  • Opportunity to network with other leaders and experts.
  • Moving to Demo Test sites.

Test environments (12:00–16:00, including coffee break)

  • Demo 1: Simulator flights
  • Demo 2: Using Drones for Game Modelling
  • Demo 3: Agricultural drone flights
  • Demo 4: Automation and Logistics with drones
  • Demo 5: Thermal camera on a drone
  • Demo 6: Airspace surveillance (demonstration / VTT)
