13.04.2026Location Innovation in Action: Highlights from Early 2026
Location Innovation Hub has had an active start to 2026. The first Impact Snapshot brings together key activities and results from the first quarter.
One of the highlights from this spring is the Geospatial Challenge Camp, which brings together early-career researchers to develop new solutions using data and location technologies. In the 2026 programme, six teams are working on solutions for sustainable mobility and urban development. The 13-week programme will culminate in a final event in May, where teams will present their solutions.
Events and new GeoAI opportunities
Location Innovation Hub continues to invest strongly in GeoAI expertise – combining geospatial data and artificial intelligence. Interest in the previously launched Location & AI online courses has remained high, with more than 200 participants enrolled during the first quarter. In addition, our events attracted around 350 participants, with an average satisfaction score of 4.7.
Work continues with new content and upcoming activities. An updated version of the Geospatial API Business Manual will be published in April. A new Location & AI guide will also be released later, further expanding our GeoAI offering.
