New online training: How to combine artificial intelligence and location data in business

Published in collaboration with OGC, the new online training course Location and AI: The Basics provides an introduction to the use of artificial intelligence and location data in business. The course takes approximately one hour to complete.

You will learn:

  • The benefits of combining AI and geospatial data in business
  • Core concepts of AI and geospatial data
  • Practical geospatial applications
  • Risks, regulations and ethical considerations
  • Key success factors for using location data and location intelligence in business

The course includes practical examples and provides a clear overview of how artificial intelligence technology combined with location data can support business planning, decision-making and innovation.

"Artificial intelligence and location data are not just the preserve of large companies – small and medium-sized enterprises can also benefit from them in concrete ways. This course offers a low-threshold opportunity to understand what these technologies are all about and how they can be used in your own business. I highly recommend it to all SME managers," says Antti Jakobsson, Project Manager at the Location Innovation Hub.

For business leaders and decision-makers, no prior experience needed

The course is aimed specifically at business leaders and decision-makers in the EU. No prior experience of artificial intelligence or location data is required to take the course. The online course can be completed at your own pace, anywhere and anytime.

This course is for you if you:

  • are in charge of data-driven management, the data economy, digitalisation or business development
  • want to find out what GeoAI is and how it can benefit your business
  • want to learn how to benefit from data, especially the combination of geospatial data and artificial intelligence (AI).
  • are business leader in a startup, SME or public organisations and want to explore new trends and opportunities in the geospatial field.

"This training is a great example of how we can bring the power of location data and AI closer to practical business. It makes complex concepts easy to grasp and shows how these technologies can support smarter decisions and real value on the ground. I highly recommend everyone in the OGC community check it out and pass it on," says Nigel Edmead, Senior Director of Learning at the OGC.

The training has been produced by Location Innovation Hub, and the production team and content creators include experts and researchers from across Europe.
