Gispo provides training and support in the use of open-source geospatial software for data visualization. Gispo can also create map visualizations of clients data.

Use cases

Gispo has helped its clients create visual representations of geospatial data using QGIS software, improving the clarity and understanding of the data. For example, Gispo developed a QGIS plugin for the City of Helsinki to visualize traffic light and vehicle detection data at intersections. The solution allows traffic engineers to better understand traffic flow and optimize signal timing by combining sensor data and map-based visualization.

KIRAHub supports data visualization in the built environment by offering forums and tools that help stakeholders understand and utilize data effectively.

Oulu University of Applied Sciences

The STARTS LAB Oulu project aims to strengthen the innovation capacity and competitiveness of Northern Ostrobothnia’s creative and technology-driven industries, including the audiovisual sector, the gaming industry, and XR/VR service providers. The project focuses on building permanent regional collaboration models that integrate expertise in art, technology, and science. Its core ambition is to combine creative skills with technological know-how to develop new products, services, and business models, supporting company growth and internationalisation. At Oamk, data visualization plays an important role in both education and RDI activities. In particular, ICT students learn to analyse and visually present data to support decision‑making and effective communication.
