01.10.2026Location Innovation in Action: Highlights from Q3 2026
Over the past three months, we have made our Location & AI course series accessible to an even wider audience, provided our clients with practical resources to strengthen their location data and GeoAI capabilities, and further expanded our European networks.
Here are some of the highlights from the past quarter:
Taking Location & AI further
The Location & AI course series is now also available in Spanish, making practical training on AI and location data accessible to an even wider international audience. By the end of September 2026, 935 people had signed up for the courses.

Practical knowledge for making better use of location data
We have continued to provide practical resources for organisations looking to make better use of location data. Our guides cover topics ranging from GeoAI and geospatial APIs to satellite positioning, helping organisations unlock the potential of location data in their own work.
By the end of Q3, the guides had been downloaded 277 times.
Strengthening connections across Europe
European collaboration has continued to grow. By the end of Q3, Location Innovation Hub had signed 19 MoUs with other European Digital Innovation Hubs, helping strengthen collaboration and build new connections across Europe.
Events have also provided opportunities to connect with new organisations and people. By the end of Q3, 2,703 people had been reached through events in Finland and across Europe.
Looking ahead
The coming months will bring more opportunities to build skills, share knowledge and connect across Europe. More translations of the Location & AI courses are coming soon, and our discovery trip to Berlin will provide opportunities to build new European connections.
We will also bring researchers and industry representatives together for How Research Creates Impact: Exploring Pathways to Commercialisation on 8 December, exploring how research can move towards collaboration, innovation, adoption and commercialisation.
