Positio Magazine's conquest of Europe has begun
The Location Innovation Hub has launched the English-language sister publication of Positio magazine, Positio-magazine.eu, at the end of 2023. The aim is to highlight Finnish location expertise and networks online and to produce interesting content, especially for a European audience. The articles will inspire and motivate the readers and also enable European networking between operators.
One of the objectives of the Location Innovation Hub is to enable operators to internationalise and network in Europe. The production of media content is one way to increase visibility:
"Finland is one of the forerunners in the use of data, we have technological know-how and the power of networks to solve problems. Through this position, we are making our expertise and range of tools visible to a wider audience," says Anniina Lundvall, Editor-in-Chief of the Positio-magazine.eu and Communications Manager of the Location Innovation Hub.
Showcasing Finnish expertise to the world
The magazine's articles have attracted a good readership from all over Europe, and the content is promoted to an international audience, for example on LinkedIn.
"Big part of the development in geospatial industry is international. For this reason, it is important to communicate Finland's geospatial industry development and activities to the international audience. From Geospatial network perspective, this new channel supports exchange of information with an international audience as well as export of latest Finnish Geospatial expertise abroad.," says Miika Kostamo, Executive Director of Geoforum Finland.
Positio-magazine.eu regularly publishes topical articles on different topics. In the spring, we explored the phenomena of the data economy and how to tackle the challenges of the circular economy. Members of the Location Innovation Hub network, including researchers, business representatives and government experts, contribute a wide range of content to the magazine, and anyone can suggest English-language content for publication. In the spring, for example, researchers in the field were invited to submit articles highlighting current research.
